The city’s problems remain despite a flood of casino money that New Jersey required the gambling houses to cough up. The casinos pay 8% of their revenues to a state fund that uses the money, among other things, to help senior citizens afford prescription drugs, and pays for transportation including mini-buses that shuttle seniors to and from grocery stores around the state.

If you aren’t already onboard with those opposed to a Casino and Entertainment complex being built in South Surrey, on rural land, in close proximity to schools and residential neighbourhoods; please help us WIN our fight to stop this Casino development.

Gambling is a wrong way to make money for any city or country. The casino industry DOES NOT MAKE money. It just REDISTIBUTES money and wastes some of it, and at the same time gambling makes for a lot of social problems.
Any person who has right thinking never thinks the casino industry needs to develop.

I have become aware of the incease of television BCLC commercials as have my friends. What is the cost of the production and television time
and is the advertising agency and television station friends of the Liberal party. Is the Liberal party of BC encouraging gambling and is the BCLC mismanaged? Thank you.

There’s no question this was not a democratic process.

How about the question of BC Lions owner David Brailey’s involvement?
No question Brailey will now receive a financial windfall from BC taxpayers because his team is worth more now.

Incidently Mr. Brailey is doing the exact same thing in Toronto.

And how about the Vancouver Whitecaps? They were going to build their own stadium — and are still planning to move out of BC Place.

Combine that with the fact that the NFL is moving to Toronto in the very near future putting the CFL’s very existence in question…

Not only did they misuse public money to build this stadium — it was a stadium that wasn’t necessary — the CFL is on life support, and the Whitecaps would have done it for free.
